We didn’t want to produce another “same-old, same-old” Radio Commercial, it had to be different, something that would entertain people, have longevity, humour and yet still be relevant to Miles & Barr Estate Agents and Financial Services.
After much debate and many, many script proposals we all agreed that our favourite and the most innovative and original idea was ‘The Annoying Neighbours’ played by Matt Lucas of Little Britain fame and based on your worst nightmare – Annoying Neighbours!
The premise was simple and sometimes the simple ideas are the best:
“Need to move and move right now? Call Miles & Barr Estate Agents or visit our new website – www.ineedtomove.co.uk”

Creating the Characters |

The recording of Matt Lucas took place in the prestigious Capital Radio Studios in London’s Leicester Square. It was a mad-cap few hours; Matt created the vocal style for the leading character that had us all in stitches and even he was heard to say that the ‘Annoying Neighbours’ were xxxxxxx annoying him too! What a great talent! Next we had to create the Cartoon characters to match the voices and this was down to Steve Cort, the Creative Director of Miles & Barr Marketing, his inspiration? Well there was good news and bad news
The Good News? 5 Episodes of the Annoying Neighbours were successfully produced to much critical acclaim.
The Bad News? One Episode has already been BANNED by the Radio Advertising Clearance Centre on the grounds that the innuendo and use of the word “xxxx” is likely to offend. So if you would like to hear the Banned Episode, it’s here! But please, no over 18’s as it could easily offend grown-ups!

The 2 cartoon characters were born for animation and there are plans to produce full-length cartoons in the near future. Meanwhile here’s just a taster of the ‘Annoying Neighbours’ looking through your letterbox to see if you are in!
